Dan Grinstead, of Seattle, has played ragtime since 1958.
He endured the honky-tonk and pizza parlor circuits of the
1960's, and is now rededicated to ragtime and classic jazz.
Some of his unique style stems from years of collecting
player piano rolls, sheet music, and early recordings.
He has played ragtime and jazz throughout the U.S., and
from Japan to Hungary, on both tuba and piano.
He has two recordings, "Ragtime-Bigtime", a two piano album
with Glenn Jenks of Maine, and "Secrets of Ragtime", a
solo production.
Curently he plays piano and arranges for the Evergreen Classic
Jazz Band of Seattle, and is on the staff of Hokum Hall, a
Seattle performance center dedicated to vaudeville,
old music, and silent movies.
